I'm Chris, husband of Lady Egg, who has already explained how we got involved in Regency dance, and far more eloquently than I. I've been interested in the Regency period since I read C.S. Forester's Hornblower books when I was about 12, although I didn't know it at the time. I've been interested in the Nelsonian Royal Navy since then, and have, over time, become curious about more and more aspects of the era. The highpoint of my adventures to date was in 2000, when I spent nine days sailing on the Endeavour replica, the reproduction of an 18th century sailing ship. www.anmm.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=457I've been interested in costuming for a long time, too. I helped my brother dress as Lord Nelson one Halloween, many years ago: goblinrevolution.org/~chrisber/pictures/misc_costuming/Nicky_Nelson.jpgThanks for letting me on board! Welcome, Chris. I am so glad to have you with us. You are such an enrichment to the group with your brilliance in men's costuming.

Greetings Goblin Esq.
It is always a wonderful thing to find a man who enjoys the richness of fabric and patterns.
I think gentlemen loose out alot these days to those of before when they were allowed - nah - expected to take considerable trouble with their dress.
Or at least find someone else to do it for them.
*grin*
