Hello! My name is Chiemi and love the regency era! I love sewing and creating. The regency period inspires me! Also I recently have found out that in my area there are regency balls that I can attend each month and plan on making a lovely wardrobe for myself and my husband. I have been lurking here for a week looking at the threads and decided to join! I'm excited to be here!
[kindly edited to add name to subject line]

You live in san diego?! Are there any regency type events in your area? The only events I know of around where I live is Ms. Haseltines Drum.

There's a English Country Dance class in Poway, and I think sometimes they go somewhere to have a dance, but mostly they go to the Pasadena balls, that you know of. I'm in the San Diego Costume Guild, and we do all eras of costumes. So no one specializes in one particular era. I envy you even having Miss Hazeltine's. I'll have to catch up with your posts later. I'm on my way out the door. Have fun reading all the messages here. There's a lot. Val

The costume guild!! I was apart of that about a year ago, but never got to go to costume college because my little girl go sick and I need to stay home. I was devastated! I just haven't had the time to go back again. I hope I'm not derailing this thread...

Hello and welcome! There is an annual regency tea, dinner, and ball in Pasadena, (I'm assuming from the mention of Miss Haseltine's Drum that you are in the LA area), every January. www.lahacal.org/austen/Lady Egg and I attended twice, in 2005 and 2006, and enjoyed ourselves immensely.
