Good Major Sir,
it is true of the seafood, which is delicious and often missed, though it is sea itself - - there nothing like the craggy, windy coastline or the homelyness of the fresh salt air - - this is what i miss most of all.
One week! You must be in quite a tizzy to accomplish all of the last minute details. i shall not detain you further. and i must see to my shopping this afternoon.
yrhs, miss julia

Welcome Miss Julia, I'm not at home at this time, I'm currently visiting the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i but normally live east of San Diego, CA. I too would love to see your treasures that you find there. Unlike the others, I can be greatly tempted by dupioni, if not too slubby. I do many different eras of costuming. I don't know how often I'll be able to check in here, as hubby keeps me busy running around, but I hope after I get back on the 15th that I'll be able to see more of your finds. Aloha, Val

hello Val,
don't worry too much, i'm here at least for the next several months. i can't afford to leave. hahaha, silly but true. so i am at your service, in fact i would be happy to vicariously shop for others here. there are more than a dozen silk shops, some as real fabric shops in town, some are more grand tour oriented and thereby more expensive.. but i love, LOVE to visit them! they are so beautiful, all the colours... exquisite.
so take your time, i'm happy for errands to do
julia
