Which Grommets/Eyelets do you use to lace your stays?

00. Don't be mistaken and use the 0. Those are too big.

I never looked at a specific numbered size... I just eyeballed it and went for the ones that looked right.

I use the smallest 2-piece (eyelet plus washer) grommets or eyelets I can purchase. I think that's usually size 00.

Which Grommets/Eyelets do you use to lace your stays? Grommets? Eyelets? Bah! I scoff at these. I have the amazing patented Goblin, who hand sews eyelets (maybe ring reinforced!) for me. Am I not the luckiest of women? ;-)

Indeed, Lady Egg! You are most fortuitous to have such a man! However, I've discovered that tightening the laces in hand done eyelets is a little more "sticky" than when the eyelets are metal. I know metal eyelets didn't really come into common use until the "Romantic" erea, but they certainly had bone eyelets during the Regency.
