Has anyone recovered any shoes to make them more regency? How did you do it?

What exactly are you looking for in your shoes? There are tons of shoes in the stores these days that suit Regency style and already mimic historical footwear. I have heard of recovering shoes in silk to match a ball gown, but the lady who did it reported that by the end of the evening her shoes were "shedding" their false skins and the silk was coming unglued.

Dawn, can you give us some examples? Maybe a primer on Regency shoe styles and how they changed?

I replied under the "modern shoes" thread. Hopefully it will help.
