Would I be wrong to wear pearl jewelry w/my outfit. Its not a formal outfit, just a visiting one. What would be right? I'm a bit stumped. I don't want to look out of my station. I'm definitely not a Bingley. More of a Bennet daughter.

What about a cross pendant on a chain? That seems to be the most common accessory in the movies.

I was thinking of something different. But you're right, it does seem common.

A string of amber or color beads? I've seen those on day dresses. I made a fake amber one by going to a bead store.

Val, I took your advice on the amber beads. Since I'm wearing a chemisette I opted to not wear a necklace (I thought it would be too much around the neck). Instead I bought some nice earrings w/some amber colored beads. Thanks for the suggestion, it gave me a good direction. And since my outfit has brown in it, they will go well.

You're welcome. I've seen blue beads on Jane Fairfax in one movie that looked pretty. I have a rose quartz bead choker that I'm dying to wear with something.

Oh those emeralds are drool-worthy... but the amethysts are lovely too... they're my birthstone.

They are beautiful! Though I literally gasped when I saw the priced and start choking on the chip I was eating. That's the kind of thing I can only dream about.

I wish I respected Jewelry more, but I tend to lose and destroy it all the time, so I never make the investment in it. The only jewelry I've ever honoured is my wedding band and engagment ring, and there's a necklace that I loved with a Norse dragon on it that I lost and am brokenhearted about it.

I misplace things sometimes and panic greatly! A few times, it was true panic. Most of my stuff now resides in a couple of safe deposit boxes
