I have been noticing that most of the photos that I have seen of people in regency costume tend to have shockingly little cleavage. However in portraits and fashion plates of the period there is a bounty of bosom. Is it that people are modest and want to cover up or is it that I am overly obsessed with my bosom? I am looking quite forward to showing it off while I have it.(who knows what will happen to "the girls" after I am done having babies) Lift and Separate is my MO! Anyway I realize that necklines did go up over the period especially for day, but I am just wondering why everyone chooses the later years necklines?

I agree that most of the costumes you see are not very revealing, but I think that is because people are mostly using day dress patterns and are not altering the neckline. If you would like to see a more revealing neckline, I will be wearing one at the ball November 3rd. Plenty of cleavage to be seen, I assure you!

Yay Lisae! I am just glad to know that I am not alone in my appreciation of decolletage and womanliness.

I, for one, appreciate it, but alas, will be upping the neckline if after making my first toile too much shows. Not for self, but for the consciences of "other folk", sigh. I am also going to be making fichus for modesty sake. Double sigh.
