I've decided that since Cosmo is leaving us for the warmer lands, that I shall be direly lacking in partners in crime. And seeing that the Major is
1) an excellent fount of military knowledge that would surely draw more masculine interest in the ORS and 2) he's proven he's not too proud to do less-than-manly chores to prepare for events, and 3) he can put together pretty much an entire event on his own, 4) that he is thoroughly 100% gentleman, 5) he's willing to attend teas and possesses nearly as great a gift of flattery as Mr. Collins; that I should surely abduct him and steal him away to Oregon where all his wonderful talents will be put to use for the benefit of the ORS. :::rubs hands together and laughs sinisterly:: Mua ha.

I voted odd, well, because you are. Though I must say the Major is quite a valuable resource.

While my vote was "no", I must say I've considered it myself! Without any regency activities in MY area we could use the organizational skills and leadership of one such as the Major. He has proven to possess all of the qualities you enumerated and would make a most amiable addition to the Bluegrass. Since you have a number of teas, balls, workshops (not to mention wiling participants) and are a quite skilled at creating a buzz of activity and putting together some fabulous events, I can't see that you really have a NEED for him! And, while I have to agree to some extent with Cosmo (re: odd), that is what makes you especially endearing! ;D

I take the odd vote as a compliment. I'm well aware that I am bizarre and strange... But I yam what I yam. ::heh::

I take the odd vote as a compliment. Believe me, I intended it as nothing but I think no person can be considered truly interesting without having some oddities. With that in mind my husband would say I'm one of the most interesting people he knows!
