I too followed the link on the S&S board. So I sew, interestingly I am working on a Tudor gown at present but I do have my regency stays made and will be making a gown to go over them very soon. I don't think there are any groups in my area but ya never know. Though my favorite aspect of the regency is defiantly the nautical books. The Master and Commander and Hornblower series in particular, in fact thats were my sn was stolen from. I love Austen too though of course. So hello everyone! from Courtney! Thoughtfully mod edited to add user name to subject.

Hello Nonsuch (name?), I also do a lot of different eras of costume, being a member of the San Diego Costume Guild. I'm just finishing my Regency corset so I can start on my gowns, hopefully to be done by August for Costume College, the annual costume convention in Los Angeles. We all have been adding to research on Regency costumes here, so there's a wealth of info to gather from, and lots of talk. Welcome! Val

Thanks all. I have edited my post to include the obvious which I of course forgot. Yes I do think that I like almost every era of fashion, with regency being my fav. If not for the style just for all the work that went into them, though it is painful making new undergarments for every era!!

Welcome! Yes, the undergarments collection can be very confusing to the uninitiated. My problem now is in the dancing - my curtsies are all confused. Cheers, Aylwen

I first became interested in the Regency period through reading the Hornblower novels, so I'm especially glad that you are here.
