I made a 'humble farmgirl's bonnet' with less embellishment, just for the heck of it. It's up on etsy. No lining on the inner brim, just a couple of floral touches and some spriggy things... I like it very much.

I'm sure there's a lot of folks who would like humble. Good luck!

Yet another... the woman who bought the one pictured above also commissioned the ruched stovepipe and this soft poke. I used dupioni silk on it. It's my fav bonnet so far I think.

I like the smaller brim on the green one and REALLY like the look of the edge (is it sewn?). Another lovely job!!

I like the colours, Steph! What is the little braid (or ribbon?) that you've finished the straw brim with? Very pretty.

Thanks Lauren. The edging is simply a rib-textured ribbon. It surprised me how nice that looks.

Thanks Lauren. They can't speak for historical accuracy, but they do work somehow. ::hee::

I love the pictures of the bonnets and will use some of your ideas when I make my first one! I've been looking on the internet for inspiration and here I've found some more. I wish you'd post more photos; they are so lovely!
