Don't let the screen name fool you, it is truly for my sanity that I chose it, if I chose something else I would forget it in a moment.
*curtsies* Lady Elizabeth. It is a true pleasure to meet all of you.
So, I have been a Regency Addict for about three years now... LOL. Anyways. I am a College graduate with my BA in History. I did my senior thesis on Regency England, and I have fallen in love with the era since then. I would love to find some where local where I could wear all the costumes I make. I have a few beautiful pieces that I have put together and a friend sent me to this form and am once again in love! LOL
Um, I don't know what else, to write so if you have a any questions feel free to ask! ~Lady Elizabeth
Edited for stating the same thing twice.

Very pleased to make your acquaintance, Lady Elizabeth!
My name is Miss Credit and like most others here on the forum I am also Regency obsessed, while I tend to focus more on the War of 1812 I still love to day dream of pretty gowns, teas and social gatherings. Alas you have come to the right place, I have never met such a lovely group and ladies and gentlemen as we have right here. I am sure you shall find them a most delightful and enjoyable group.
I just noticed that you are in search of a place where you could wear your creations, were you thinking of something like the ORS or more along the lines of reenacting? Either way if you let me know where you are located I could assist you in finding a group.

I'm not sure what ORS is, but I think I am looking for both. I live in Central California. And was hopping to find something local, I don't travel as much as I would like. Thanks for the help! ~Lady Elizabeth

The ORS is the Oregon Regency Society, I dont know much about it since I live in Ohio but Steph (aka the Allseeing RSA on the board) can give you a wealth of information about it. They do all sorts of social gatherings, workshops for bonnets and all sorts of fun stuff, makes me wish I lived a little bit closer to Oregon hehe. Forgive me for not remembering my geography lessons, I know Cali is a large state but where specific towns are I have no clue but luckily I was able to find this list on the ORS site. Ye Gaskell Occasional Dance Society, Oakland, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) www.gaskellball.com/P.E.E.R.S. - Period Events and Entertainments Re-Creation Society, Alameda, CA (San Francisco Bay area) ~ Historical dances & other events from many periods, including English Regency BAERS - Bay Area English Regency Society, San Francisco Bay Area, CA Regular dances; "Philosophers' Symposium and Frolic"; teas Friends of the English Regency, Los Angeles, CA area ~ Regular dances; annual Assembly in March; Choreographer John Hertz; dance book and tapes available Lively Arts History Association & Social Dance Irregulars, San Diego & Pasadena, CA ~ Balls, workshops, living history events You can find the list here www.oregonregencysociety.com/groups.htm#ca

Welcome, Lady Elizabeth. It is a pleasure to meet you. You are pretty lucky to be in the Central Cali area with so much going on in the Bay Area.

Welcome to our little group! There are so many members who are historians, costumers and regency fanatics that you will find lots of good company! I've been amazed at the wealth of information and research that these folks have and collectively it is just an amazing resource!
I hope you find many good things in your area. It is so much more fun to be able to play with friends ;D

Welcome to our group, Lady Elizabeth. I'm in Southern CA, near San Diego. We have our own costume guild that does all eras. Very CADD (Costume Attention Deficit Disorder). There is a guild in SF that does a lot of Regency, including attending many of those previously listed. IT's the Greater Bay Area Costume Guild GBACG www.gbacg.org/ I hope you enjoy it here. Val
