So, hi! I'm new to this board, and also sort of new to the Regency era in general. I kind of have an unhealthy obsession with historical costumes, I've been making 'em since November, and while I've only made Victorian clothing so far, I'm working on branching out some. Sadly, I'm not sure when I'm going to get around to any Regency creations, my project list is a mile long and constantly growing. I am too easily inspired, it's actually a problem.
In addition to pretty, pretty clothes, I'm also into social history and especially learning about/thinking about/talking about how social and political events influence dress. I also like history of beer/fermentables in general, weapons, and technology. I'm also trying to get into some reenactment.
In my real life I'm going into my third year of college at a hippie-filled school in Massachusetts, and I'm studying microbiology. I spend my summers with the fam in Georgia, where I count down the days until school starts. In addition to history, sewing, and science, I'm into gender studies (on my own time, not academically, I don't get along with sociology professors), belly dancing, home brewing, and a laundry list of many geeky things like sci-fi and video games.
