Hello! I'm not certain if I'm doing this right, so here goes: I lived in the San Fran Bay area for the last 12 years and have just relocated with my husband to the Atlanta, Georgia area in late July. Back in Cali I participated with groups such as PEERS, BAERS and the like, though I wasn't able to do so nearly as often as I'd liked. Now, I feel like Alice in Wonderland as I can't seem to find much of anything like the costuming groups back home. So, I'm happy to have found this forum and am looking forward to learning about events that I may be able to travel to attend and (if I'm lucky) of events going on in the Atlanta area, specifically costuming events which are my not-so-guilty pleasure. I am relatively knowledgeable about the Regency period, customs, fashions, and literature of the period and have read more than my fair share of Regency romances. I'm a below average sewer, somewhat decent draper, and a rather good fashion illustrator. Come January I will be attending the Savannah College of Art & Design (aka: SCAD) branch in Atlanta to complete my illustration degree. I look forward to learning about you and learning from you. Hi Latis, It looks like we have another newcomer here from Georgia called Bazookababy. I'll bet she'd love to direct you to local events.
Welcome! and I hope the new home is starting to feel comfy

It so happens Bazookababy is just setting up a Regency Society in Georgia, and she's about 25 minutes from Atlanta. I think you might want to message her as soon as you have a moment. She's setting up the website as we speak.

I totally feel your pain!!! I just moved from the Savannah area in Georgia and if there is a state that is more lacking in Regency organizations I have yet to find it!!! There is more, I think in the northern area of Georgia and around Atlanta so if you dig you can probably come up with something... good luck!!!
