Hi everyone! After much thought and envy of those on the west coast with lots of fun events to go to, I have decided it's Atlanta's turn. With as many enthusiastic costumers and history buffs that live in the South East, it's very odd to me that we don't already have something like this. With the guidance of The Allseeing RSA I have put together a website and am in the process of getting our first events underway. If you know anyone in the South East USA who might be interested, please send them this way! Our website address is www.garegency.org and you can reach me by email at info[AT]garegency.org.

Where at in Georgia do you live?? Hopefully at some point we can plan something closer to where you live! No reason why you can't join even if you aren't super close. : ) Everyone is welcome, and thank you so much for the offer of help. I think everything is under control at the moment *knocks on wood* but if something comes up I will be sure to let you know. Lovely to meet you!

Nice to meet you too. I live about an hour out of Savannah, the historic district would be a great place for future events! There are several buildings from the era there, Ships of the Sea Museum, Owen-Thomas House, or the Davenport House, are all from around that time I believe...Ships of the Sea does alot of event hosting and so does Forsythe Park. And I am sure there would be SCAD students that would want to get involved. Perhaps you could post events (even if they are in Atlanta) here savannahnow.com, I know that the RenFaire advertises alot around here - encouraging people to make the drive. Anyway I'm sending in the enrollment form now, hope to be able to come to come to event sometime soon. ~Courtney

I have a couple friends who grew up in Jessup so I think I know about where you are. Savannah is a very pretty town, I've been there a couple times and have friends who have either gone to SCAD or still live there currently. And I've heard of a couple of those places, I just went and looked them up and the Davenport House is really very pretty. I'd love to be able to do something there at some point in time, thank you for the suggestions. : )
After the tea I'll be sure to advertise to as many places as possible (I've got close to 20 communities, local groups, forums, etc) but as we're already up to 17 confirmations, and a much much larger group of "maybes," I'm trying to keep this from getting too big to handle. I'm hoping that in January or February we can do a workshop. And, of course, there will be lots and lots of things to do in the future.
Glad to have you with us!
Stephanie
