Hello! My name is Nora. I am a 30 year old married lady in Portland Or. I just submitted my application for membership in the Oregon Regency Society. I am super excited as I plan to attend the Twelfth Night Ball on January 9th. Im nervous as I have never made a dress, but I love the clothes. I also love the rules of society, the fact that ladies and men had specific roles and the rules of propriety were specific. People now a days are too informal.
Any and all comments and advice on where to start would be appreciated.
Nora

Hi Nora, and welcome not only to the RSA Community board but also to the ORS (I'm Stephanie, the ORS Grand Poobah. I do hope you can make the ball too! It's always a great place to become introduced ot our wonderful group. We're all fun people--and you don't have to have a costume in order to participate. Steph

Hello I am Becki from Oregon City, Oregon and I am just attempting sewing my first Regency Dress. I am looking for chemise (slip) patterns. Right now I am starting with a basic pattern and will add frills etc.. I hope to attend the Oregon Regency Valentines tea and Ball. Have a great night! Becki

Hi to you all. I joined the Regency Society a year ago. I went to the first Spring Ball in our area last year and it was so lovely. Then I got to go again this year. It was fabulous! I love everything about the society. I have watched my DVD of Sense and Sensibility so many times I am embarrassed to say how many. Love the music, the dances, the fabulous dresses, all things Austen! Would love to chat with any of you about any part of the Regency Society.
