Hello Everyone! My name is Catherine I've always been interested in the Regency period. I've just recently started trying to sew my own dresses and I'm currently looking for groups that are in or around my area. I'd love to get together with other enthusiasts and swap stories, attend events and do anything that could give me an excuse to play dress up for a little while.  |

Hi,
My name is Debra and I live in Oceanside, CA too. I've also been looking for others in this area interested in the Regency period. I have the material and pattern to make my own dress and bonnet but haven't yet done so because I didn't want to just sit around the house. (All dressed up and no place to go)
So far the closest group I've found in a dance group in Poway. I learned about a picnic in LA in Aug. and have been considering trying to go.
Let me know more about what you are doing and your progress finding others like us.

Hi Debra and welcome. I haven't yet had any luck in finding any other people living in our area that are Regency groupies.  I've seen the events in LA and have been considering them as well. I'm to the point where I'm thinking about starting my own group(even if I'm the only member). lol For sure keep me informed as well. And good luck! |

Hi Debra and Catherine, I'm in the San Diego area too, and am a member of the San Diego Costume Guild. sdcg.angelfire.com/ We do all eras of costuming so we're not limited to just one. It's a free membership, and we communicate by a Yahoo Group. There's an email link on that page. This Sunday, Mar 23, 12:30, we are having a Regency luncheon at the Elephant & Castle pub (across from the Star of India) to celebrate the engagement of the Dashwood sisters. In full Regency regalia of course. If you're able to let us know at least a day ahead of time, you're welcome to come. We'll just be ordering off the menu.
