The last time I posted here, I apologized that I had nothing Regency to post about, since I was in the middle of working on two Civil War gowns, and went to my first CW event. Since then, we had a Regency event come up, and I had to scramble to get something made. It's this Sunday, and will be a luncheon at the Elephant & Castle pub in San Diego, to celebrate the engagement of the Dashwood sisters. I finally pulled out my unfinished bodiced petticoat and finished that. Then used the same pattern (LaMode Bagatelle), with a little height adjustment, and made a gown with it. Since the weather was probably going to be cool, although this week will be 80, then low 70s, I wanted something to keep me a little warmer. The dress is a sheer white voile. The pelisse is a red striped linen-look poly. I also wanted to make a turban to cover my hair-challenged head and got that made. I'm currently writing up a post with photos on the making of this outfit and will have it done within a day or so. In the meantime, I do have the turban article posted, and can share that. timetravelingincostume.blogspot.com/2010/03/regency-turban.htmlI have another fabric, a white voile with dark blue embroidered flowers on it, that I wanted to make another dress of the same pattern, to go with a dark blue silk spencer, and may whip that one up since the pattern is already fitted, but right now I have to get into my Edwardian mode and get that corset and dress done for August, so I don't know if that's going to happen right now.

I managed to have two hours undisturbed and got my blog entry all written up and photos added. So here is the final outfit, minus a photo of me wearing it. timetravelingincostume.blogspot.com/

Wow - that looks really pretty! And I love the covered buttons detail you added...it just gives it a little something extra! I have this pattern as well, but haven't yet had occasion to make it up. Your pictures definitely inspire me to pull it out. Oh, and I love the strong red pelisse paired with a white dress - great combination.

The outfit is really nice. I've been using this pattern for the last few gowns that I've attempted and now that I can see what it looks like when it's done well I like it even more.
