Hello!
My name is Meg and I am overjoyed to have found this forum. I started costuming in 9th grade, mostly for theater and especially the SCA, which I remained active in through college. I was mostly flubbing my way along and have only recently really put my nose to the construction-grindstone with the aim of creating well-fitting and accurately sewn garments instead of ill-fitting "costumes"! I made my first regency gown in college, inspired by the description of a gown worn by a character in Patrick O'Brian's great sea-saga. After college, I worked in the library at FIDM in San Francisco, and curated their collection of historic garments until my son was born last summer.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!
M.

Welcome Meg!
Looks like you've jumped in with both feet. It really is nice to find people as excited about the Regency as I am. This forum is great!
Kindly, ~Barbara
