Hi my name is Evelyn! I little about me...I am 28 going on 29 I am a Jane Austin movie junkie and can watch the AE Pride & Prejudice and Emma (with Gwyneth Paltrow - still in my opinion her best role) back to back for 6+ hours and annoy anyone who happens to be in the same space with me - something about the Regency time has captivated me since I was in high school. I have read several regency romances Flowers From the Storm by Laura Kinsale is hands down my favorite. I love the way she wrote the Duke of Jervaulx. In my latest effort to get off the computer I have joined the Oregon Regency Society and I am researching Regency clothing to make a riding habit for their Fox Hunt in September. It will be interesting since "my skills are slender indeed!" I have already found this forum a great resource and I can't wait to share my progress. Cheers!

Welcome, Evelyn! I am delighted you could join us! I haven't yet watched the A&E version of P&P, but from what I know of it, it seems to be a more accurate version than the Keira Knightley version. I am looking forward to watching it. The Gwyneth Paltrow version of Emma is the only version I have watched so far. Looking forward to hearing about your progess with the riding habit!

Indeed, let me add my own greeting and welcome you also, Miss Evelyn!
I have to agree that the A&E P&P is the best version! (I really did not like the Keira Knightly version at all, though I know others do.)
Getting involved is the best way to feed your Regency addiction!
With Kind Regards, ~Barbara

Hi and welcome!!! I took have been intrigued with the Regency Era since high school, when I first saw the A&E Pride. No one does Mr Darcy like Colin Firth, he is hands down the best Darcy ever!!!
Good luck with your riding habit!!!
